Dr. Kharouta primarily practices at Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital. He has conducted research in the areas of genitourinary, head & neck, lung, and breast cancers, as well as stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery, proton therapy, and medical physics. His work has been presented at multiple national and international meetings, including the annual meetings of the American Radium Society, the American Brachytherapy Society, the American Society for Radiation Oncology, and the European Society of Medical Oncology.
While Dr. Kharouta treats a broad range of cancers, he has a particular interest in gynecologic and prostate malignancies, tumors of the head & neck, and the central nervous system. He is trained in the use of 3-dimensional conformal radiation therapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery, proton therapy, and brachytherapy.
Dr. Kharouta was born and raised in Chicago. He enjoys running, hiking, cooking, and playing the acoustic guitar.
