James Ruffer, MD

Education & Training

Dr. Ruffer has particular expertise in the treatment of breast, gynecologic, lung, and genitourinary malignancies, as well as a range of benign conditions. He is highly experienced in advanced radiotherapy techniques, including stereotactic radiotherapy/radiosurgery, three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy, intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), and high-dose-rate brachytherapy.

Dr. Ruffer holds a leadership role in radiation oncology within Advocate Health Care and is an active member of numerous professional organizations. He continues to serve as President of Radiation Oncology Consultants. Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Ruffer enjoys spending time with his spouse and best friend, Galya. Together, they share a love of water sports, travel, and especially cherish time with their grandchild.
