Dr. Hartsell is the medical director and primarily practices at the Northwestern Medicine Chicago Proton Center. Dr. Hartsell has expertise in the use of conformal 3D therapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), stereotactic radiosurgery, high dose rate brachytherapy, and proton therapy. He has directed a number of national studies, published and presented numerous papers, and given local and national lectures on various topics regarding cancer treatment, including many papers on breast cancer treatment, brain tumor treatment, prostate cancer treatment, head and neck cancer, Hodgkin’s disease and palliative care.
Dr. Hartsell is happily married and has four children and one grandchild.
