Before joining Radiation Oncology Consultants, Dr. Parhar was an attending physician at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for close to a decade and brings her extensive experience to the group.

She has expertise on how to minimize radiation associated side effects for patients undergoing radiation therapy and her unique access to various techniques and modalities including Proton therapy allows her to choose the most appropriate and best treatments for her patients. She also has contributed highly to national clinical trial enrollment for her patients thus offering them new and cutting edge treatments.

She mostly practices in the Northwestern Medicine Proton Center and Central DuPage Cancer Center and is well versed in treating cancers in all areas of the body and focuses on treating head and neck cancers and breast cancers.

Dr. Parhar is active in numerous professional organizations. She has a master’s in public health as well from Columbia University which has enriched her as a physician to always look at her patients as a whole.

She routinely collaborates with colleagues to ensure that all patients receive the best possible care. She aims to empower her patients and educate them about their treatment so that they can tackle the cancer together as a team.

Dr. Parhar knew from a young age that she wanted to help people as a doctor. Radiation oncology especially appealed to her because it provides fast, measurable results in a noninvasive way. She sometimes tells patients to picture her as a “virtual surgeon.”

When not working, she loves spending time with her family and cooking.
